What a Support Coordinator Can Help With

Plan implementation
Helping you and your family understand how to use your NDIS funding effectively, and connecting you with service providers that align with your goals.

Forward planning
Using in-depth knowledge of the NDIA system to review your current funding, plan ahead, and gather the right evidence to support plan variations before funding is over-utilised.

Managing supports and budgets
Connecting you with service providers and coordinating support schedules to ensure there is sufficient funding available across all relevant categories.

Problem solving
Acting as a bridge between you and your providers to promote open communication and ensure you are satisfied with the services you receive.

Collaboration between service providers
Arranging stakeholder meetings as needed so all professionals can work together on therapy plans, goals, and any challenges that arise.

Advocacy support
While a support coordinator cannot act as a formal advocate in tribunal proceedings, they can attend planning meetings to support you in navigating funding decisions and NDIA processes, including complaints. Support coordinators can also escalate requests to the NDIA to help fast-track decisions such as plan variations and assistive technology requests.

Crisis management
Working closely with you and your family, a support coordinator can be more accessible during times of crisis and provide the necessary resources and assistance to help manage the situation, while keeping service providers informed.
